The 27th China International Coatings Show (CHINACOAT) was held with great fanfare at the Guangzhou Canton Fair Complex. Kuncai Technology showcased its products, including titanium dioxide produced via the world’s first hydrochloric acid extraction process—highly anticipated by the industry—drawing intense attention and lively discussion. Among them, its flagship high-purity titanium white pigment sparked a veritable “titanium white extravaganza” at the show, prompting numerous media outlets to rush in for interviews and coverage of this remarkable event.
Numerous industry‑wide media outlets, including the Securities Times, Eastmoney.com, China.org.cn, Dazhong.com, Cnfol.com, Xueqiu.com, Phoenix Finance, Hexun.com, and Tonghuashun Finance, have all highlighted the groundbreaking significance of the hydrochloric acid extraction process for producing titanium dioxide, which is poised to steer the titanium dioxide industry toward high‑quality, sustainable development.
Industry news outlets such as HCChemNet, Huizheng Information, China Titanium Net, China Coatings Net, and Huileju believe that Kuncai Technology’s subsidiary, Zhengtai New Materials, after 12 years of intensive R&D, has independently developed the world’s first hydrochloric acid extraction process, which is poised to disrupt the titanium dioxide industry’s traditional methods that have prevailed for more than eight decades, marking a groundbreaking innovation.
Moreover, the renowned industry video platform “Maihuasu” conducted a live broadcast from the exhibition, drawing nearly 2,000 online viewers to watch the real-time action at Kuncai’s booth.
Currently, Kuncai Technology has commissioned the first phase of its Zhengtai New Materials project, which has an annual capacity of 200,000 tons of titanium tetrachloride produced via the extraction process, with products already being gradually introduced to the market. The second phase will add another 600,000 tons of titanium tetrachloride produced by the same method, primarily aimed at replacing imported titanium tetrachloride. Going forward, the share of these high‑tech, high‑value‑added products is expected to continue rising and eventually become mainstream.
