On October 20, Kuncai Technology’s 15.8 MW photovoltaic power plant was successfully connected to the grid, making it currently the largest rooftop distributed PV project in Fujian Province.

The project makes full use of the idle rooftops of industrial facilities, covering a total area of 160,000 square meters, with a combined installed capacity of 15.8 megawatts and an average annual power generation of 15.8 million kilowatt-hours. Mr. Ge Huaijun, General Manager of Zhejiang Sino‑Austrian Energy Development Co., Ltd., explained: “Once operational, the project is expected to reduce annual carbon emissions by 11,060 tons, particulate matter by 3,886 tons, and sulfur dioxide by 426 tons—equivalent to planting 46,610 trees.”

The solar photovoltaic project is one of the milestone achievements through which Kunchai is steadily implementing its strategy of “promoting green development and fostering harmonious coexistence between humanity and nature.” In active response to the call of the CPC Central Committee, Kunchai has adopted the deepening of the green energy revolution and the “dual carbon” goals—peaking carbon emissions and achieving carbon neutrality—as guiding principles for the company’s future development.

In response, Chen Kecai, Vice Mayor of Fuqing City, on behalf of the Fuqing Municipal Government, outlined promising opportunities for further collaboration with Kuncai in pursuit of the dual-carbon goals, ensuring that the ethos of social and ecological responsibility benefits more local enterprises and jointly ushers in a new chapter of high-quality, green development.

Mr. Xie Bingkun, Chairman of Kunchai, stated: “Kunchai has achieved remarkable results in carbon emissions and carbon footprint management, placing us at the forefront of the industry. The successful operation of this project has delivered a win-win outcome—both economic benefits and environmental sustainability—while contributing to China’s environmental protection efforts and helping mitigate the impact of global energy shortages on the manufacturing sector. Moving forward, Kunchai will collaborate with more ecological partners on low‑carbon production, working together to safeguard our green home.”
