On September 8, Zhengtai New Materials held a ceremony marking the full‑capacity operation of its project to produce 200,000 tons per year of titanium dioxide and iron oxides via the extraction process, with more than a hundred guests in attendance. This milestone not only underscores China’s pioneering achievements and breakthroughs on the global stage but also upends the century‑old conventional processes and technologies for producing titanium dioxide.
Investors and partners of Kunchai Technology visited Zhengtai New Materials. Dr. Cao Zhicheng, the company’s Chief Technology Officer, led them on a site tour of the titanium dioxide chlorination and iron oxide production lines, providing an up-close look at every stage of the manufacturing process—from the initial ore‑dissolving step to final product packaging. Through interactive discussions and technical briefings, attendees gained a deep understanding of the transformative significance of the extraction‑based process.
As bags of titanium dioxide, each with an annual output of 200,000 tons, were neatly presented one by one along the two production lines, the guests in attendance witnessed a milestone breakthrough: the chlorination‑based titanium white and iron oxide project has reached full design capacity.
At the ceremony, Mr. Xie Bingkun, Chairman of Kunchai Technology, reflected on the remarkable transformation of Zhengtai New Materials over just four short years: on a sprawling thousand‑mu site, factory buildings have risen one after another, and through countless nights lit by endless work lights, the company has steadily emerged as a key player in the global titanium dioxide industry. The recently signed Letter of Intent for the Investment Framework Agreement on the Vanadium–Titanium Resource Base Project will effectively help Kunchai secure high‑quality overseas mineral resources, further enhancing the company’s overall competitiveness across the vanadium–titanium–iron value chain.
Dr. Cao Zhicheng, the company’s Chief Technology Officer, provided a brief overview of the Mapochs mining project in South Africa, noting that the unique hydrochloric acid leaching process enables the full utilization of locally sourced mineral resources. The project is slated for a long-term capacity of 60 million tonnes per year of raw ore processing, with an anticipated output of 5 million tonnes of titanium concentrate. In concluding his presentation, he highlighted, through detailed characterization and application data, that the titanium dioxide and iron oxide products produced via the hydrochloric acid leaching process have already met leading international standards.
Technological innovation cannot thrive without market recognition and support. At this celebration, Kuncai invited three distinguished distributor representatives who, from the perspective of downstream applications, actively engaged with and witnessed the performance of the TiOEX 803 product across a wide range of plastic‑based systems. They stated that Kuncai’s titanium dioxide products align with industry trends, have received positive feedback from end‑users, and expressed their willingness to collaborate with Kuncai in exploring market opportunities, fostering resource sharing, and achieving mutual benefit and win‑win outcomes.
