Iron oxide
Iron oxide red
Product Overview
Kuncai has pioneered a proprietary raw-material preparation process that, through specialized crystal‑seed formation and calcination techniques, yields iron oxide red with exceptional weather resistance, strong tinting strength, excellent dispersibility, low oil absorption, low metallic impurity content, and uniform particle size. Its uniquely near‑spherical particles further enhance its opacity.
Product Features
The FeOEX‑R series products are manufactured using a hydrochloric acid extraction process—pioneered by Kunchai World—to produce raw materials with low heavy metal and impurity levels. The iron oxide red is produced via liquid caustic neutralization and medium‑temperature calcination, yielding particles that differ from the agglomerated fines formed by conventional air oxidation. This results in superior tinting strength and excellent opacity, enabling reduced pigment usage in coatings and plastic applications while promoting resource efficiency and environmental sustainability. Moreover, during mechanical shearing processes such as grinding, the product exhibits outstanding thermal stability and color stability.
Key Features
- High opacity: After calcination at medium temperatures, the iron oxide red exhibits a more uniform particle size and superior opacity, with a relative opacity exceeding 10%.
- Low oil absorption: After high‑temperature calcination, the surface of red iron oxide particles becomes more compact, resulting in lower oil absorption, which enhances dispersion and wetting and facilitates application.
- Low impurities: Kuncai pioneered an extraction-based method for preparing reaction raw materials, resulting in low heavy-metal content. The reaction is conducted in a sealed environment, ensuring no additional impurities are introduced during the process, making the product suitable for both food-grade and cosmetic-grade applications.
